Geofence

The platform supports two types of geofence.

Area Geofence

An area geofence is a virtual fence around an area which you can draw on the map. You can esaily add notifications when a device enters or leaves a geofence area.

Route Geofence

A route Geofence is a pre-defined route. You can easily add notifications when a device deviates from the pre-defined route.

From the main menu click on the ‘Settings’ tab.

then click on ‘Geofences’

If you have created any Geofence areas, they will appear in a list. 

Create a Route Geofence area.

To add a Route Geofence area, click on the icon.

Move the cursor to the start point of your route. Click on the start point then move the cursor along the route, clicking waypoints along the route. This wil create an orange line of waypoints as shown in the image below.

When you reach the end of the route, click on the end point a second time. This will open a new page where you can enter a name for your route and click the ‘Save’ button.

Create a Geofence area.

To add a Geofence area, click on the icon.

You will need to create a circumference line around your area. Move the cursor to the start point of your circumference. Click on the start point then move the cursor to the next point and keep clicking on points around your area, ending up at the start point. This wil create an orange line of waypoints as shown in the image below.

When you reach the start point, click on the start point a second time. This will open a new page where you can enter a name for your area and click the ‘Save’ button.

Edit & Delete

You can easily edit the Geofence name or delete a Geofence by clicking on these icons.
